The final Caterham Superlight R500 has rolled off the production line as the Dartford sports car maker closes the order book on one of its most extreme creations. The 253bhp R500, which is capable of reaching 60mph in 2.88 seconds, pirouetted onto the scene in a cloud of tyre smoke in 2008. This lightweight David went on to win hearts and minds around the world by beating the Goliath Bugatti Veyron on Top Gear TV’s test track by nearly half a second.
The social networks have spoken: The Ford Mustang V6 Performance package will now be known as the Mayhem Mustang package. Ford put out a call to its 1.4 million Facebook fans with the question, “What should we call the Mustang V6 Performance package?”
More than 3,000 submissions were made via Ford's Facebook page, and almost 6,700 users installed the “You Name It” app. The winning submission came from a fan in North Carolina, who won a three-year lease on the 2012 Ford Mustang V6.
